Equipped to meet all requirements

Whether awnings, sun sails or sunshades: When the open-air season is about to kick off, visitors at R+T in Stuttgart have so much to do to meet their customers’ requirements. Both for sun protection systems on terraces and balconies in private homes and in public places such as in gastronomy and the hotel sector – at the world’s leading trade fair in 2018, the latest trends and innovations will be presented in order to be able to guarantee the right solution for all applications and installation conditions.

Growing market

The entire market for open-air shade solutions records continuously growing demand. This is also confirmed by Sebastian Schmid, who as department head for Technology Trade Fairs is responsible, among other things, for the development of R+T: “Already at R+T 2015, many of our exhibitors presented their solutions for the theme of outdoor living. In the course of our joint planning for the upcoming edition of our world’s leading trade fair, it quickly became clear that much more growth in this area can be expected.” There has been an appropriate response to this market development. “We always gear our hall concept to the requirements of exhibitors and visitors. Owing to the newly constructed Paul Horn Halle (Hall 10), in 2018 we will fortunately have more space available than before, so we will be able to respond very flexibly.” The result: In particular in the Oskar Lapp Halle (Hall 6), the specialist visitors will be able to find solutions for this area. “Numerous companies will contribute to creating a “Mecca” for the sector of gastronomy and hotels,” says Sebastian Schmid.

Innovative systems

With regard to awnings, sun sails and sunshades, the specialist visitors to R+T 2018 can look forward to many product innovations. In particular awnings, with many sophisticated technical details that offer considerable additional benefits that go well beyond the simple provision of shade, are impressive.

This spring, for example, the Pergola awning from Weinor will ensure that the open-air season can be enjoyed without any trouble. “Our Plaza Viva also allows use of the terrace even when it’s raining,” reports Managing Director Thilo Weiermann. Rainwater run-off is reliably ensured even at a 4-degree inclination and by the additional lowering of the telescopic post. “The post can be lowered by turning a crank to create the necessary inclination. To relieve the load on the system and to ensure stability, the wall console is loosely mounted,” says Thilo Weiermann. The same effect is provided by means of a compensating joint on the post at the transition to the transport profile. Both elements ensure that the entire awning is optimally adjusted to the inclination. The system increases comfort by means of optional LED lighting inconspicuously integrated into the cassette, as well as by a crank-operated flounce that gives visual and anti-dazzle protection from the front even when the sun is very low. Thilo Weiermann: “Furthermore, beside the perfect appearance, our developments naturally also focus on the theme of safety.” The wind stability of the Plaza Viva is guaranteed up to wind force 6, and is ensured by a new solid transport profile.

Diverse areas of use

Maximum comfort and safety will be characteristic of the sun sails on display in the trade fair halls of R+T 2018. With tailored solutions, the company Soliday, among others, will impress the specialist public and show that sun sails can protect areas of almost any size and for the most diverse areas of application. The sun sails from this company cleverly combine innovative technology and a puristic design in order to provide shade efficiently and in a stylishly reliable manner. In this regard, not only the actual size of the weather and sun protection is decisive, but the individual design details. The patented technology, the quality of the materials and the selection and cutting of the right sun sail fabrics play an important role not only in matching the systems to individual demands, but also to the architecture of the respective building. In addition, these points guarantee the all-round safe and comfortable use of the systems. At R+T 2018 in Stuttgart, the specialist visitors will experience directly how versatile the use of sun sails can be.

Absolutely flexible

The sunshade solutions that will be presented by the exhibitors are no less flexible in their use. The company Glatz will showcase sunshades both for private use and for the gastronomy and hotel segment. “Regardless of where our sunshade solutions are destined for use, they all share the same high quality so that they practically never age,” reports Managing Director Markus Glatz. A whole range of accessories is offered as an option to significantly extend the additional use of the sunshades.

From modular umbrella heaters, light elements, motor drives, tables with sunshades, protective covers, remote controls, floor covers, rain gutters, bases or mounting plates, to bistro tables that can be secured to the sunshade pole, the demands know no limits. Markus Glatz: “Everything can be individually tailored to each sunshade model.”

In all weathers

Visitors to R+T 2018 are also on the safe side with regard to outdoor living when a comprehensive market overview is needed. “The exhibitors are especially convincing on account of the great degree of flexibility that their solutions offer,” Sebastian Schmid is pleased to say. Perfectly adapted to the respective installation conditions, the solutions are ideal in terms of attractiveness, quality, comfort and safety. Whatever the weather.
