Messe Stuttgart sets up subsidiary in India

Sachin Patil is new Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart India / First events to take place at the start of 2024

India is one of the most important markets of the future and according to an OECD Growth Report in June with a forecast of six percent growth for this year and seven percent growth for 2024 it is considered the fastest-growing country of the G20 group. With its robust economy, a young, growing population and focus on technological advances, the subcontinent is on track to become a global economic power. The Indian events and exhibitions market was estimated at 3 billion euro in 2020 and is expected to reach 6.2 billion euro by 2026. With the targeted activities in India, Messe Stuttgart also wants to increase the number of exhibitors and visitors from India at the Stuttgart venue. Furthermore, the events in India will provide a platform to strengthen the multifaceted relationships between India and Baden-Württemberg. Enough reasons for Messe Stuttgart to now set up its own subsidiary in India.

New Managing Director is Sachin Patil

Sachin Patil is Managing Director of the new subsidiary. The 38-year-old is not new to the international trade fair industry. Patil was previously employed in other German trade fair companies and has been a foreign representative for Messe Stuttgart in New Delhi for some years now. “With Sachin Patil we have an experienced expert in the events industry in order to successfully position our trade fair topics on the Indian market”, explains Roland Bleinroth, President of Messe Stuttgart. “Mr. Patil has extensive experience in the Indian trade fair business and based on his previous work as our local representative already possesses exceptional knowledge of our products in Germany and in other countries. Against this backdrop we have created a superb basis to work together to continue to grow our international business.”

Trade fair calendar is already well filled

Immediately after the start-up, Sachin Patil and the local team can already look forward to a well-filled event calendar in 2024. MOLDEX India (19 – 23 January) and FASTNEX India (19 – 23 January) will be held in Bangalore in the new year, followed by LogiMAT India (28 February – 1 March) in New Delhi.

Active all over the world

Messe Stuttgart is active all over the world and is present in over 50 countries with subsidiaries and foreign representatives. With the international activities, exhibitors and visitors are acquired for trade fairs in Stuttgart and increasingly self-organised events are also being established abroad. In addition, Messe Stuttgart regularly organises various official German joint participations at leading international trade fairs worldwide.
