A Large number of leading industry players have confirmed their participation. A Safe live trade fair experience guaranteed.

The preparations for the implementation of R+T, the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors/gates and sun shading systems, from 21 to 25 February 2022 are in full swing. The industry will finally meet again in person in Stuttgart in order to obtain information about product innovations and exchange ideas relating to current challenges. Around 700 national and international companies have already registered for R+T 2022. In the case of participants from Asia, there may still be changes due to travel restrictions.

“International trade fairs such as R+T are currently in the spotlight. We realise that internationally operating companies, in particular, are taking different decisions regarding their attendance at the trade fair. Cancellations at short notice by industry players at this point of the trade fair preparations pose great challenges for both us as the organiser and other exhibitors,” explained Sebastian Schmid, Department Director Technology at Messe Stuttgart. “It goes without saying that we will stage R+T. Despite these current circumstances, we are receiving a great response from the industry which still regards R+T as the trade fair where it is possible to meet every customer in one place. The changed situation will also open new opportunities for the exhibitors who are present. Let us therefore focus on the future and all participating companies that are currently right in the middle of their preparations for R+T 2022 and are eagerly looking forward to a personal reunion in Stuttgart after four long years. We can also hardly wait for R+T and are looking forward to a wide range of exhibitors – with well-known market players and especially a large number of new exhibitors.”

Leading industry players committed to R+T 2022

“In our opinion, R+T is the most important platform to present our innovations, new products and existing products to the industry. We are delighted with the intensive contacts and exchanges with trade visitors at the event,” said Miriam Albrecht, Managing Director of Reflexa, who is confident about her company’s participation in R+T 2022. Ulf Kattelmann, Managing Director of KADECO, also emphasised the importance of the trade fair: “KADECO will be there at R+T next spring! We are looking forward to many personal discussions and also sense this need among our partners. They can look forward to a first-class presentation of our products and our brand. A large number of product innovations will be presented for the first time at R+T.” The preparations for attendance at R+T and product developments are also in full swing at the manufacturers heroal and markilux. Sandra Musculus, President of the Industrial Association for Technical Textiles, Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (ITRS), stated clearly: “R+T is an event for the industry! We are looking forward to R+T 2022 in a positive mood and are delighted to take part again.” Klaus Braun, Managing Director of ALUKON, added: “We are clearly committed to R+T and are pleased to be represented again in an ideal environment at one of the most relevant trade fairs for our company.” In particular, the long wait until the live event in Stuttgart is having an impact in the industry. “We are looking forward enormously to R+T. Especially in the last few months, it was apparent how much personal exchanges with customers, suppliers and colleagues were missed. It will certainly be a special trade fair in unusual times,” enthused Jürgen Schulz, Managing Director of Leiner, in looking forward to R+T 2022. “A strong industry needs a strong trade fair with an international standing,” said Manfred Heissenberger, Managing Director of Sattler Sun-Tex. “With a powerful presentation we will make every effort to ensure that R+T 2022 is a total success.” The latest list of exhibitors at R+T 2022 will be available from Friday, 22 October 2021 onwards, at: r-t/en/visitors/index-of-exhibitors

Trade fairs finally being held again!

Trade fairs have been taking place again at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre since September. For example, the leading international trade fair VISION in the area of machine vision and SÜFFA, a trade fair for the meat industry. On the whole, very positive conclusions were drawn for both industry events. Although a drop in the number of visitors was recorded compared with the previous event, the expertise of the visitors was also much higher. There was enormous demand for discussions and investments, which was the main reason for great satisfaction among the exhibitors. The proportion of international visitors in attendance was also far higher than expected. For example, an increased number of visitors came from Europe, but also from the USA, Korea and Japan. “This positive outcome of the trade fairs held to date strengthens our conviction that we can also expect visitors with high expertise at R+T 2022,” said Sebastian Schmid with confidence. “We want to again offer the industry a live trade fair experience which we all missed so much in the previous months! Thanks to R+T digital, we gathered interesting experiences and learned a great deal regarding digital events. However, we also quickly noticed the limits of purely online offerings.” “After the large number of digital product presentations and video conferences, it can now be seen what we all painfully missed – haptic touching and grasping, and direct dealings with one another,” said Heinrich Abletshauser, President of the Federal Association for Manufacturers of Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (BVRS). Andreas Böck, Managing Director of SELVE, concurred: “Personal contact is vitally important in our industry and cannot be replaced by anything.” Lars Rippstein, Managing Director of the Industrial Association for Technical Textiles, Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (ITRS), added: “It’s no surprise that we are totally looking forward to R+T 2022. The Messe Stuttgart Team will do everything to ensure that we can meet there safely.”

Safe attendance at R+T guaranteed

At the trade fairs held so far, the Safe Expo concept of Messe Stuttgart for safely staging events has already proved to be very successful. No uncertainty could be sensed among exhibitors and visitors. Sebastian Schmid: “Fortunately, the general developments in the pandemic are heading in the right direction. I am certain that exhibitors and visitors will find ideal conditions for their participation in or attendance at R+T at the end of February 2022.” The Safe Expo concept is also being continuously adapted and relaxed according to political guidelines. Further information about this concept can be found online at: www.messe-stuttgart.de/en/exhibitors/news/.

New opportunities through a supplementary online offer

“Especially due to the last months, trade fairs play an important role since personal contact in the business world cannot be permanently replaced by online offers,” said Sebastian Schmid. “However, we want to give all the participating companies the possibility of a digital extension. This digital extension will enable the exhibitors at R+T 2022 to extend their presence on an online platform, fill it with information and provide the information to their target group in the long term.” The online platform can be accessed via the known URL www.messe-stuttgart.de/r-t/en/visitors/r-t-digital-2021/ and will be available up until R+T 2024. Exhibitors can therefore also reach visitors who cannot come to the trade fair due to any travel restrictions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to obtain information online about the trends and product innovations in the industry. In addition, the accompanying programme of R+T will be streamed live and will then be available in the form of on-demand videos. Visitors who are present in Stuttgart will therefore be able to call up different content again online after the trade fair.

By taking part in R+T 2022, every exhibitor will automatically be given a presence in the digital platform. This presence may be further extended in relation to the particular features. In order to demonstrate and explain the different functionalities, a demo version of the digital platform for R+T 2022 will be created by the middle of November 2021. Further information concerning this demo version will be shortly available.
