Philip McKay has been the new President of Messe Stuttgart’s American subsidiary, Messe Stuttgart Inc., since 1 October. The 66-year-old is CEO of nGage events, a private organiser of trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences in the USA, based in Scarborough, Maine. Prior to founding nGage events in 2012, McKay held executive roles at numerous global companies including Gartner, Key3Media, World Market Center and Questex. “In Philip McKay, we are gaining an experienced event professional to continue exploiting the growth potential in the American market,” says Roland Bleinroth, President and CEO of Messe Stuttgart. “McKay is very much at home in the trade fair business and knows our industry very well. We have thus created the optimum basis for further expansion of our international business together.”

Messe Stuttgart has been active with its own subsidiary in the USA for about ten years

A new project is already waiting in the wings: The Sun Shading Expo North America is being held for the first time in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 12 to 14 October 2022. The event is an offshoot of the R+T in Stuttgart, which takes place every three years. This is the trade fair for roller shutters, doors and sun shading systems. The core of the new event will be internal and external sun protection systems; the specific product groups are roller shutters and accessories, exterior blinds, interior sun protection, insect protection, drives and control systems as well as building automation and intelligent home systems.

Messe Stuttgart has been active in the USA with its own subsidiary for almost ten years. This strengthens the company’s presence in the important North American economic region and firmly positions Stuttgart trade fair themes in North America. And there is also added value for the Stuttgart trade fair venue and the region: “Through this cooperation, we are increasing the interest among potential exhibitors in America to present themselves with their products and offers in Stuttgart and thus to the local Baden-Württemberg economy,” says Bleinroth.

Active around the globe

Messe Stuttgart is active around the globe and has a network of subsidiaries and foreign representatives in over 50 countries. This network not only attracts more exhibitors and visitors to trade fairs in Stuttgart, but also establishes the company’s own events abroad. In addition, Messe Stuttgart regularly manages various official German joint participations at leading international trade fairs worldwide.
